when I was in Jr. High my pal had this set...I was envious, it had a mini module, map, and looked cool... I had only just started painting then, my first figures were the ones in the Mattel electronic Dungeons and Dragons game. But he was painting these we were using what we had,  fingernail polish, and a few testors and pactra bottles, while he spent the night over. Fun days.

Berthier, Soult, Lesalle, Mcdonald(?) I think? Anyway, its slick..love the famous maps on tables

"Above Par" brand fell by the wayside...maybe the slogan; "It's Meh." Didn't draw in crowds. Still, along with "Barely Adequate Beef Stew", and "Mediocre Meat Melange (with jelly)" it defined an age.

Here's a Heyde devil. The devil must have been a good seller as Heyde made numerous iterations of these red guys doing all sorts of mischief, often as inkwells, lamp bases, and other desktop ornaments.
