The Wrath of Khan reliant really inpires people to retrofit it into the tos timeline. Here are at least 3 variations on the theme. Free 3d files can be found for several of these.
It always makes me laugh when I read about Roddenberry wanting to make Star Trek different from the art deco, streamline inspired "space age" look of the 50s...It's art design is so mid century modern that it hurts, and is easy to parody.
