the Tupolev ANT-20 was for a time the wingspan king... the Soviets were really kicking ass and taking names in the area of aircraft development in the 1920s, they pioneered all metal large planes, developed powerful monoplane fighters, aerial refulling, and airborne operations. By the thirties they had even developed an airborne tank...literally a wing set that turned a light tank into a glider.
A neat subject, Austrians from the 1860s. These are Neuremberg style bleisoldaten, probably by by Heyde. The thin speghetti style arms allow one mold to produce several figure types by simply bending then soldering on accessories . Also notice that the rifles feature a flash of fire from the muzzle, this is a common feature of german figures. The skinny proportions and smallish 45-50mm size economizes on lead keeping them competetive with 54mm hollowcast figures.
