The FWD

one of the first Army trucks in the world the FWD was a brute of a vehicle in it's time, 4 cylinders with one of the first production 4 wheel drive systems on the road.  This was the supply truck that Pershing took into Mexico to hunt Pancho Villa.  They powered the AEF, and the Brits through WWi, and built US infrastructure in the 20s, a great many doing civic services in the post war era throughout the 20s.  The high body and 4wd handled the mud of the Western front like a champ, which favored it for the bad tracks of the US West, Northwest and rural South,  and they did critical services in the great roadbuiling campaigns that heralded the automobile age in the US.  There are now good model kits for this guy on the market...I hope to bag a few for the Ornrian Army.  If machines can be regarded as heros of the Republic, this forgotten vetran would be worthy of the title.
