I picked this book (the edition seen here) in late 1986 or early 1987 from a Stars and Stripes bookstore in Japan. Doing some casual research on the book turned up a free to read copy at archive.org: https://archive.org/details/dicingwithdragon00ianl

I'm undecided about writing about this book. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I was mad for fantasy work, and the paperback was getting a bit of traction already for role-playing games.

So there I am, on my favorite window shopping haunt taking a break from reading Frontinus' "The Strategems"... trying to learn latin hurts my brain... so I stumbled across yet another effort by someone to cash in on the success of Gygax and Arneson's brilliant RPG powerhouse.

OMG, a really wonderful blog page on the ships from the MGM spectacle Ben-Hur! I saw a few of the background models at "Worlds of Fun" outside Kansas City, when I was about 8 years old...they captured my imagination and made me want to know more about movie magic... well check out these brilliant filming props; complete with sprung and working human models onboard...
