currently reading the  most amazing novel; "With Fire and Sword", by Henryk Sienkiewicz. 

It's set in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the mid 17th Century...it's a big book, but man does it MOVE, it's brilliant.  There's only one good translation done in 1995, but in europe it's been in continuous print for almost 200 years.
