These Marx playset display boards were usually put together for a Christmas Season, and sent to retailers, usually in a special unmarked box.  They were obviously great ways to boost sales of playsets, that were usually about 9 dollars in the 60s. the Inflation Calculator I'm using suggests that would be roughly 84 dollars today.  I disagree, not about the calculation, but that a metal building playset like this can't be had for under 200.00.  though some equivalent playsets are produced by TSSD and CTS, etc.  However BMC IS hitting approx an 80 dollar pricepoint, though their playsets are fine, they do not include half the variety of small accessories an old Marx set does.
