So, got some time in the shop today, worked on horses until I broke off two tails in a row. got them pinned and set in jb weld, so that ended work for the day. :( no matter. I took some pics to show off some of my xmas gifts... the comic book flat knights were a lucky find; Kent Sprecher of Toy Soldiers HQ had them cheap on ebay. they aren't perfect or even a full set, but it does include most poses, and also one Revolutionary war figure and two Romans... The Romans were shot in both Hard styrene and Softer Poly plastics, so more of them survive, the Knights were made in fewer numbers it seems, and were all Hard plastic and therefore broke easily. Today a half set can go for 100 dollars, way out of my league. a far cry from the 200 pieces for 2 dollars of the original comic book ad. still, I have enough of them and the Romans now to make molds, and that means I can people the Barony of Baconbach with 30mm flats in a call back to the day I played my first game of D&D.

The spectacle Loupe is from Debbie, it's pretty cool with a big set of glass magnifiers for a wide range of magnifications, and led lights to illuminate the work. I should have a much easier time with faces and other details now, Katie got me two new houses for the villiage and for wargames ( and photo shoots) a decent church and restraunt.  I intend to repaint them eventually, but they do for now.  they came with a nice bunch of accessories too; lamp-posts, benches, deer, santas, and trees.  clearance at the walmart mas section, 75% off of 12 bucks.  3 dollars a house is well worth it.  also they are prelit, with leds and interior details which is kind of cool.  Usually I get wargaming bottle brush trees after christmas when they go on clearance for roughly a dime each.  this year there were only 6 left, in oddly rust-pink colors that look like beetles have gotten to them...
