at the NY Worlds Fair in 1939 a 30 minute presentation combined narration, diorama building and stage craft with model railroading to create "Railroads at Work".this model railroad show simulated day and night, with stage lighting effects for dawn, dusk, night and day; and lights on engines, homes lighthouses, etc. that increased luminosity for the "night" operations, O gauge in foreground and "OO" in background arranged so O gauge foreground trains disappered and reappeared in OO in the background.

Feix was an importer/purveyer of toy soldiers out of a small brick shop in New York around 1901.  His figures were in the german style, molds most likely imported from there.  they appear in early catalogs, like Sears, so were widely shopped.

Light and airy then?  or with a penetrating flavor?   anyhow I love the cover design.

designed to sit in  the middle of a circle of track, with a tunnel to  boot.  a little Marx extra for the standard O trainset.
