So a small line of GI Joe figures is out; they are 2.5in, or 60mmm... plastic armymen size. so that's kinda interesting. why only 6 figures, and why THESE particular 6 I can't say; I'd be interested if it were the original 1984 action figures.
a new maker, or marketer, of kits; Atlantis has been reissuing the aurora/monogram kits seemingly held by the giacommo family (the holders of the original Aurora patents and molds). still, the prices seem reasonable for model kits these days, and made in America to boot.
Timmee/Processed Plastic's Galaxy Warrior line included this seprately sold large version of the Xwingf16 space fighter; sold in two color schemes that I've seen; white and red and white and black, with chrome trim, a 54mm pilot figure and a decal. they were usually seen in bins, along with cars, planes and boats in the Woolworths, or Kmart toy aisles.
These plates are for cut-out flags of the Ornrian states, with small "national roundel" type emblems for aircraft and vehicles. these flags are meant to be cut out and glued around a skewer "flag pole" to mark HQs or airfields or what not.
I SHOULD label them, but it's not really needed as these are really just for my use, and I know who they represent, but I'll include the standard form of the flags so you have a key.
in my house growing up, we knew it was Christmas a'coming when the ol Searsalog showed up in the mail. One of our traditions was the "go through this and circle things you want from Santa", which was a lot like the Army saying; Tell us where you want to be stationed; a sure fire bet that the thing you pick is the one thing you KNEW wouldn't happen... but every year like clockwork I circled the Navarone/Iwo Jima mountain....Every....Year...and every year I never saw it under the tree...
Love me some of that sabre jet, mig, ouregan, Lavochin swept wing shiny aluminum magic! To have been up here when all those Alaskan marked Sabres were flying overhead...
Miller was a 50s company that produced a large-ish range of inexpensive dimestore painted toy soldiers from chalkware; essentially a plaster compound. they were fragile enough to be somewhat rare today; but show up on ebay from time to time...
